The H2V Magallanes Trade Association participated in an exchange meeting with members of the H2 Verde Mission, an initiative that brought together an Argentine delegation composed of authorities, political leaders, and representatives from the academic sphere of the provinces of Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego in Punta Arenas.
The mission was organized by the Argentine Environmental Policy Circle and co-financed by the European Union, with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences and lessons learned regarding the development of green hydrogen in the Patagonian region.
Over two days of work, meetings were held with authorities and key players in the regional ecosystem, addressing issues related to governance, public-private coordination, and the development of green hydrogen projects, thereby strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the two countries.
In this context, strategic meetings were held with the H2V Magallanes Trade Association and CORFO's Transforma H2V program, which allowed the delegation to learn firsthand about public-private partnership schemes, progress in implementing the Regional Green Hydrogen Strategy, and the main lessons learned in developing projects in the Magallanes Region.
During the meeting, Salvador Harambour, Executive Director of the H2V Magallanes Trade Association, gave a presentation on the actions promoted since the consortium was formed, the characteristics of the projects developed by the five companies that comprise it, and the public-private collaborative work that has been carried out to promote this new energy industry in the region.
For his part, Juan Carlos Villalonga, advisor on Energy and Climate Change at the Environmental Policy Circle, highlighted that "the experience of Punta Arenas shows that a clear strategy, sustained over time and coordinated between the public and private sectors, is key to transforming the potential of green hydrogen into concrete projects. These lessons are fundamental for considering the development of hydrogen in Argentine Patagonia."
