23/1/25

Representatives of the member companies of the H2V Magallanes Trade Association met in Punta Arenas with the Delegation of the European Union in Chile to discuss the challenges of the renewable hydrogen industry and its derivatives.

The diplomatic delegation headed by the EU Ambassador to Chile, Claudia Gintersdorfer, was made up of the ambassadors of Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Romania, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Poland.

The guild that promotes the development of the hydrogen industry, key to the energy transition, raised the urgency of reducing processing times in the installation of projects and promote their competitiveness, in addition to the importance of public and private efforts to generate the necessary port and road infrastructure.

H2V Magallanes is currently comprised of 8 projects that could reach an investment of US$70 billion. Five of the projects are located in the continental zone, in the municipalities of San Gregorio, Laguna Blanca and Punta Arenas. The three projects in Tierra del Fuego are located in the municipalities of Porvenir and Primavera.
